This session will provide an update on the state of the Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance market, which has been extremely challenging in recent years. Fortunately we have seen some positive movement for some lines of coverage, but others continue to very much experience hard market conditions. The speaker will discuss the factors that have contributed to the hard market, especially for the property and general liability lines. He will explain the impact of those factors, and illustrate how they shape carrier appetites, underwriting decisions and pricing. Finally, the speaker will review some ideas on what we can all do to address the causes of the general liability hard market and mitigate their impacts.
